The American Diabetes Association wrote a great article about Diabetes and Hearing Loss that we wanted to share with our readers and fellow bloggers. A recent study found that hearing loss is twice as coomon in people with diabetes as it is in those who don’t have the disease. Also, of the 86 million adults in the U.S. who have prediabetes, the rate of hearing loss is 30 percent higher than in those with normal blood glucose. Now lets be clear that more research has to be done to discover why people with diabetes have a higher rate of hearing loss the evidence in the study is still alarming and shouldnt go unnoticed. What we really want to make you aware of is that symptoms of hearing loss can often be hard to notice and can happen rather slowly over time. Normally family members and friends are the ones to notice the signs of hearing loss that the person is experiencing. Below is a list of those normal signs.
